Summary

Dialect Islam is the aspect of Islam that would surprise a Muslim visiting from elsewhere. As in language, Dialect Islam is recognized as a feature of Lived Islam, inextricable and of equal significance to other aspects of Islam. Everyone speaks a dialect; all Lived Islams are locally inflected.
