Summary
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
1 Corinthians 15:39The evolutionary hypothesis carried to its logical conclusion disputes every vital truth of the Bible. Its tendency, natural if not inevitable, is to lead those who really accept it, first to agnosticism and then to atheism. Evolutionists attack the truth of the Bible, not openly at first, but by using weasel words like ‘poetical’, ‘symbolical’, and ‘allegorical’ to suck the meaning out of the inspired record of man's creation.
William Jennings Bryan (1925/2008)Theology made no provision for evolution. The biblical authors had missed the most important revelation of all! Could it be that they were not really privy to the thoughts of God?
Edward O. Wilson (1998), p. 6What in God's name are we talking about?
There is no longer any reasonable doubt about whether evolution happened. It did, and anyone who's interested in gaining an accurate picture of the world needs to adjust themselves to this fact. Unfortunately, this is often easier said than done, especially when the adjustments need to be made in sensitive areas. If you've ever challenged someone about their religious beliefs, you'll know that religion is just about the most sensitive area there is. Evolutionary theory raises difficult questions for believers, encroaching on territory that was traditionally the province of religion.
