Summary
“Understanding” is the capacity to disclose the contexts that give an action or experience its meaning or sense. Understanding discloses by projecting entities, actions, and events onto possibilities. To project onto possibilities is to see something in terms of what it signifies and affords, where this necessarily includes grasping how the significance and affordances alter systematically and predictably along with changes in the environing circumstances.
