Anxiety disorder is a common psychological disorder in modern life, which has had a huge impact on people’s lives. Reasonable architectural environment design can alleviate the anxiety of individuals with psychological anxiety and help alleviate their discomfort.

500 survey questionnaires on the impact of building environment on residents and GAD-2 questionnaire were selected from a certain city population in June 2021. Among them, there are 275 males and 225 females. The residential questionnaire includes five aspects of residents’ anxiety about residential area, floor height, bedroom layout, residential orientation, and building type. The GAD-2 questionnaire includes residents’ anxiety level. The collected information was statistically analyzed using SPSS3.0 software.

According to the correlation analysis results of SPSS software, there is a negative correlation between residential area and anxiety level. There is no correlation between floor height and anxiety level, with a p-value greater than 0.05. There is a correlation between bedroom layout and anxiety level, with a p-value less than 0.05. There is a correlation between residential orientation and anxiety level, with a p-value less than 0.05. There is a correlation between building type and anxiety level, with a p-value less than 0.05. Moreover, the anxiety level of residents in residential areas is lower than that of residents in apartment buildings.

Reasonable architectural environment design has a positive impact on individuals with psychological anxiety. By introducing reasonable lighting design, spatial layout, and functional zoning, the tension and anxiety of anxious individuals can be reduced.

Patients with remitted psychosis wish to reduce antipsychotic doses yet facing increased risks of relapse. Examining dose-tapering processes may provide insights to re-evaluate the risk-to-benefit balance. We aimed to depict and subgroup tapering trajectories, and explore factors associated with different dose-reduction patterns.

A 2-year open-label randomized prospective comparative trial from August 2017 to September 2022 in Taiwan. Patients with a history of schizophrenia-related psychotic disorders under stable medications and symptoms were eligible, randomizing a proportion to conduct guided dose reduction. We depicted the trajectories of individual patients and named subgroups based on dose-tapering patterns. Predictors of baseline characteristics for designated subgroups were examined by logistic regression analysis; changes in outcomes were compared by paired t-test.

Fifty-one patients undergoing guided dose reduction, 18 (35.3%) reduced 4 steps consecutively (sequential reducers, SR), 14 (27.5%) reduced 1 to 3 steps (modest reducers, MR), 3 (5.9%) re-escalated to previous level (alert reducers, AR), 7 (13.7%) returned to baseline level (baseline returners, BR), 6 (11.7%) relapsed (failed reducers, FR) and 3 (5.9%) withdrew without relapse (early exits, EE). Patients with a history of relapse assumed a conservative dose-tapering pace; only the SR subgroup exhibited significant improvements in functioning and quality of life while failing to identify variables for predicting who would become SR or FR.

Guided dose reduction comprises dynamic processes with differences between individual trajectories. The proposed naming of dose-tapering patterns/subgroups provides a framework depicting patients undergoing dose-tapering. Longer-term observation and more flexible tapering approaches are anticipated to reveal favorable outcomes.

To estimate the association of catastrophic health expenditure (CHE) with the risk of depression in middle-aged and old people in China.

We used data of 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2018 from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study, which covered 150 counties of 28 provinces in China. CHE was calculated as out-of-pocket health expenditure exceeding 40% of a household’s capacity to pay. Depression was measured by a 10-item Centre for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale. We evaluated CHE prevalence and applied Cox proportional hazard models to estimate adjusted hazard ratios (aHRs) and 95% confident intervals (CIs) for the risk of depression among participants with CHE after controlling potential confounders, compared with those without CHE.

Among 5765 households included in this study, CHE prevalence at baseline was 19.24%. The depression incidence of participants with CHE (8.00 per 1000 person-month) was higher than that of those without CHE (6.81 per 1000 person-month). After controlling confounders, participants with CHE had a 13% higher risk (aHR = 1.13, 95% CI: 1.02–1.26) of depression than those without CHE. In subgroup analysis, the association of CHE with depression was significant in males and in people with chronic diseases, of younger age, living in rural areas and of lowest family economic level (all P < 0.05).

Nearly one of five middle-aged and old people in China incurred CHE, and CHE was associated with the risk of depression. Concerted efforts should be made to monitor CHE and related depression episode. Moreover, timely interventions about CHE and depression need to be implemented and strengthened among middle-aged and old people.

Patients with remitted psychosis face a dilemma between the wish to discontinue antipsychotics and the risk of relapse. We test if an operationalized guided-dose-reduction algorithm can help reach a lower effective dose without increased risks of relapse.

A 2-year open-label randomized prospective comparative cohort trial from Aug 2017 to Sep 2022. Patients with a history of schizophrenia-related psychotic disorders under stable medications and symptoms were eligible, randomized 2:1 into guided dose reduction group (GDR) v. maintenance treatment group (MT1), together with a group of naturalistic maintenance controls (MT2). We observed if the relapse rates would be different between 3 groups, to what extent the dose could be reduced, and if GDR patients could have improved functioning and quality of life.

A total of 96 patients, comprised 51, 24, and 21 patients in GDR, MT1, and MT2 groups, respectively. During follow-up, 14 patients (14.6%) relapsed, including 6, 4, and 4 from GDR, MT1, and MT2, statistically no difference between groups. In total, 74.5% of GDR patients could stay well under a lower dose, including 18 patients (35.3%) conducting 4 consecutive dose-tapering and staying well after reducing 58.5% of their baseline dose. The GDR group exhibited improved clinical outcomes and endorsed better quality of life.

GDR is a feasible approach as the majority of patients had a chance to taper antipsychotics to certain extents. Still, 25.5% of GDR patients could not successfully decrease any dose, including 11.8% experienced relapse, a risk comparable to their maintenance counterparts.

Dissociative anxiety disorder in student group is a common mental disorder in the learning process of students. When students are separated from their attachment objects, they will have extremely strong resistance psychology, which will lead to their excessive dissociative anxiety. Dissociative anxiety disorder will lead to more abnormal behaviors and emotions in their life and study. How to alleviate students’ dissociative anxiety disorder has become the focus of current education research.

In this study, 68 students were diagnosed as dissociative anxiety disorder in a school and they were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 34 in each group. The students in the control group adopted routine mental health education during the treatment, while the students in the experimental group combined drama management strategies on the basis of mental health education. Finally, evaluate the changes and differences of dissociative anxiety between the two groups.

The comparison results of the two groups of students are shown in Table 1. Table 1 shows that the anxiety scores of students in the experimental group are significantly lower than those in the control group, and the scores of behavior control and emotional response of students in the experimental group are also significantly lower than those in the control group after treatment, with a statistically significant difference. Students’ dissociative anxiety disorder has seriously affected students’ life and learning progress, so it is very important to alleviate students’ dissociative anxiety disorder. In the study, an intervention strategy combining drama management and mental health education was proposed. Through experimental verification, this strategy can significantly reduce students’ anxiety scores, and alleviate students’ anxiety behaviors and emotions. Therefore, in education and teaching, it is feasible to introduce drama management strategies to enhance the cultivation of students’ mental health, which is of great significance to the improvement of education quality and students’ growth.

During the study period in college, students often suffer from depression because of serious psychological depression. When suffering from depression, it is difficult for college students to make effective self-adjustment. This will reduce their sense of self-efficacy, and ultimately lead to college students’ difficulty in effectively relieving their depression. The research points out that psychological intervention can specifically reduce college students’ depression, improve their well-being status, and then enhance their sense of self-efficacy, and promote college students’ rehabilitation.

The study took 108 students with depression admitted to a university hospital as subjects, and randomly divided them into group A and group B. The students in group A were treated with routine psychological intervention, and the students in group B were treated with college medical guidance on the basis of psychological intervention. Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) of the two groups was observed. General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) was used to analyze the change of self-efficacy of the two groups, and the questionnaire survey was conducted to evaluate students’ coping style.

The HAMD and GSES scores of the two groups of students were shown in Table 1. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups in the scores after intervention. Table 1.

The self-efficacy of college students with depression has seriously affected their rehabilitation effect. Therefore, the study proposed a psychological intervention strategy combined with college medical guidance. In the effect evaluation, the psychological intervention strategy of medical guidance in colleges and universities can significantly reduce the students’ depression scores and enhance their sense of self-efficacy. Therefore, in college teaching, we need to make full use of college medical guidance to improve the effect of psychological intervention and alleviate students’ depression.

Slowed information processing speed (IPS) is the core contributor to cognitive impairment in patients with late-life depression (LLD). The hippocampus is an important link between depression and dementia, and it may be involved in IPS slowing in LLD. However, the relationship between a slowed IPS and the dynamic activity and connectivity of hippocampal subregions in patients with LLD remains unclear.

One hundred thirty-four patients with LLD and 89 healthy controls were recruited. Sliding-window analysis was used to assess whole-brain dynamic functional connectivity (dFC), dynamic fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (dfALFF) and dynamic regional homogeneity (dReHo) for each hippocampal subregion seed.

Cognitive impairment (global cognition, verbal memory, language, visual–spatial skill, executive function and working memory) in patients with LLD was mediated by their slowed IPS. Compared with the controls, patients with LLD exhibited decreased dFC between various hippocampal subregions and the frontal cortex and decreased dReho in the left rostral hippocampus. Additionally, most of the dFCs were negatively associated with the severity of depressive symptoms and were positively associated with various domains of cognitive function. Moreover, the dFC between the left rostral hippocampus and middle frontal gyrus exhibited a partial mediation effect on the relationships between the scores of depressive symptoms and IPS.

Patients with LLD exhibited decreased dFC between the hippocampus and frontal cortex, and the decreased dFC between the left rostral hippocampus and right middle frontal gyrus was involved in the underlying neural substrate of the slowed IPS.

Benzodiazepine receptor agonists (BZRAs) are commonly used clinically and data on their hazardous use from large populations of psychiatric patients is limited.

To assess the current status of hazardous BZRA use and related factors in Chinese out-patient psychiatric settings.

The study included out-patients with at least one BZRA prescription from five psychiatric settings in east, central and west China in 2018. Demographic and prescription information were extracted from the electronic prescription database. We defined the co-occurrence of overdose and long-term use as hazardous use, and patients whose recorded diagnoses did not meet any indications approved by the Chinese Food and Drug Administration as over-indication users. Additionally, 200 hazardous users were randomly selected for follow-up interview to confirm the actual situation.

Among 720 054 out-patients, 164 450 (22.8%) had at least one BZRA prescription; 55.9% of patients were prescribed over-indication and 3% were defined as hazardous users. Multilevel multivariate regression analysis with hospital as a random effect showed that factors associated with hazardous use were older age (18–64 years: β = 0.018; 95% CI 0.013–0.023; >65 years: β = 0.015; 95% CI 0.010–0.021), male (β = 0.005, 95% CI 0.003–0.007), over-indication (β = 0.013, 95% CI 0.012–0.015), more out-patient visits (β = 0.006, 95% CI 0.006–0.006) and more visits to different doctors (β = 0.007, 95% CI 0.007–0.008); 98.5% of hazardous users (197/200) could not be contacted.

BZRAs are commonly used and there is a relatively large proportion of over-indication users among Chinese psychiatric out-patients. However, only a small proportion of hazardous users were detected. The study highlights how to use prescription data to support improvements in clinical practice.
