Ancorasporella mexicana gen. et sp. nov., collected on
dead leaf stalk of an unidentified fern in a cloud forest in the state
Veracruz, México, is described and illustrated. This singular
hyphomycete is distinguished from known genera by its euseptate,
triangular or fusiform conidia which are attached at 90° to the
long axis of the cicatrized conidiogenous cell.
