J’avais conclu mon travail de responsable du club « histoire » de la SFRP par la publication d’un article : « Un peu d’histoire : la revue Radioprotection, 1966 à 1999 », dans le numéro 2 de 2005, pp. 151–171. Protégé par ces vingt pages, je me croyais à l’abri. Lourde était mon erreur : lors de la récente réunion du comité de rédaction, Henri Métivier, après m’avoir félicité pour avoir adhéré à l’association dès sa création, et pour avoir participé au premier comité de rédaction, a affirmé que cela me rendait totalement prioritaire pour rédiger un second article sur la revue, évidemment différent du premier, par exemple plus anecdotique (Fig. 1).

Il m’était difficile de résister. Je me suis donc retrouvé devant une page blanche, à noircir, comme les suivantes, et j’ai repris le chemin de l’historiographie chronologique…

L’évolution de la revue a été fortement marquée par la personnalité de chaque président de la Commission des publications, devenue plus récemment le Comité de rédaction. Leur nombre est de cinq ; je découperai donc mon propos en cinq parties. Le président est secondé par un exécutant, sorte de secrétaire de rédaction, dont dépend le déroulement harmonieux des opérations, jusqu’à la sortie de chaque numéro. Dans le titre de chaque morceau, son nom sera placé entre parenthèses, après celui du président.

Whole cells of Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus CNRZ 397 (Lb. bulgaricus CNRZ 397) are able to hydrolyse α- and β-caseins. We have isolated a mutant of Lb. bulgaricus altered for growth in milk and unable to hydrolyse α- or β-casein. Normal growth was restored by adding amino acids or tryptone to milk. No significant difference between the peptidase activities of parent and mutant strains was observed. The cell surface caseinolytic activities of three lactobacilli species and Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis (Lc. lactis) were compared. As expected, the characteristics of the cell surface proteinase activity of Lb. casei were similar to those of Lc. lactis. We showed that the cleavage specificities of the cell surface proteinase activities from lactobacilli were species-dependent and at least three types of activity were distinguished. The regulation of the biosynthesis of cell surface proteinase activities was medium-dependent and different within the Lactobacillus genus and even within the Lb. delbrueckii species. In contrast to Lb. bulgaricus, the cell surface proteinase activity of Lb. lactis was totally inhibited in a medium rich in peptides or amino acids. In contrast, the cell surface of Lb. helveticus probably displayed two proteinases with different cleavage specificities and with a biosynthesis regulation sensitive to different medium components.

Survival and growth performances of autotriploids in rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) and three types of triploid hybrids between female rainbow trout and brown trout males (Salmo trutta,) coho salmon males (Oncorhynchus kisutch) and brook trout males (Salvelinus fontinalis) were analysed relatively to the parental species in freshwater farming conditions. At the end of the immature period, autotriploids exhibit moderate but significant depression relative to the control for both survival (about 25% depression) and growth (10 to 15% depression). Most of this depression is established during the first three months of life, triploids appearing very similar to the control later on. At the onset of sexual maturation at 2 years old, relative value of triploids becomes higher than that of the control, for both survival and growth. Long term evaluation (2+ or 3+) balances in favor of triploids with particular advantage for triploid females. Triploid hybrids exhibit much more important depression in early survival (up to 60%). Later on, their survival remains always lower than those of parental controls. Their growth performances are intermediate between their two parental species. Despite a relative advantage for these groups during the onset of sexual maturation in control groups, especially for growth, long tem evaluation is in favor of diploid rainbow trout, but in some specific cases.
