Generic guidance on the withdrawal of sheltering, withdrawal of evacuation and evacuation of sheltered populations (displacement) has been developed based on previously unpublished work in the UK and France and on input from stakeholder panels in Germany, Belgium, France and the UK. The guidance is a living document that can be developed further in the future, both in its generic form and also as customised versions in some Member States. The guidance outlines the many factors which influence the withdrawal of emergency countermeasures: official confirmation that any release has stopped; adequacy of monitoring data; radiological criteria; radiological protection advice; availability of resources; social and psychological needs; stakeholder dialogue; and communication strategy. The relative importance placed by decision makers on each of these criteria would vary according to the nature and scale of the accident and also on socio-political, economic and cultural perspectives. In the event of a radiological incident, decision makers will need to be in a position to construct a strategy for managing the withdrawal of emergency countermeasures. For larger scale, longer duration releases involving several nuclides, a management strategy is likely to be complex. The guidance therefore includes a series of checklists which have been developed in conjunction with stakeholders to take into account the main criteria and factors which should be considered.

Between October 1968 and February 1970, 30 strains of cytomegalovirus were isolated from the urine of children admitted to hospitals in Lyon. Three groups of children up to the age of 14 years have been investigated.

The first group consisted of 304 newborns and infants up to the age of 1 year; cytomegalovirus was grown from five of these (1·6%). Among these five children, two had cerebral disorders. None of them had ever shown any sign of typical CMV infection.

The second group comprised 102 children between the ages of 1 and 14 years, from a special service for neurological and mental diseases. Cytomegalovirus was grown from 19 (18·6%).

The third group was 27 children also between 1 and 14 years of age, admitted to hospital for miscellaneous diseases excluding cerebral disorders; cytomegalovirus was grown from six (22·2%).

It appears that cytomegalovirus has a very low incidence in neonatal disease. The virus spreads at a higher rate in children 1–14 years old. No difference has so far been shown in the excretion rates of two groups of children, one with cerebral disorders and one with other diseases, but the number of children in the last group is too small to allow definite conclusions to be drawn.

An epidemic of acute haemorrhagic conjunctivitis occurred in Morocco in 1970–1. It was caused by an enterovirus which appeared to be a new antigenic type similar to a virus isolated in South East Asia during the same period.

L'objectif de cette étude est de définir à terme un outil fiable de dimensionnement d'assemblages collés pour favoriser l'utilisation de cette technique d'assemblage, en particulier, dans le domaine des structures marines et sous-marines. Un dispositif de type "Arcan", adapté pour l'étude du comportement d'un assemblage "métal-métal", a été développé pour se concentrer sur l'analyse du comportement de la colle en films minces. Pour analyser la cinématique de la déformation du joint de colle nous avons utilisé un système de mesure sans contact par corrélation d'images. Ainsi différentes caractéristiques du comportement non-linéaire de la colle ont été observées. Les premiers résultats obtenus pour les collages mixtes (acier, aluminium, composite) montrent des comportements similaires de la colle pour la procédure proposée. De plus, des contrôles de qualité par DSC, et des études de cuisson par DMA sont réalisées pour vérifier la conformité de la procédure de collage.

Généralitiés. Aucune société ne peut vivre sans une organisation judiciaire, sans juridictions qui tranchent les différends surgissant entre ses membres et punissent leurs transgressions des règles impératives édictées par ses dirigeants. On trouve de nos jours une confirmation assez curieuse de cette vérité dans la multiplication des tribunaux privés fonctionnant dans toutes ces grandes fédérations sportives qui sont une des manifestations de notre civilisation. Mais cela est vrai aussi pour les populations dites non civilisées, et par exemple pour les indigènes du centre-africain.
