Introduction to the Special Issue on Best Papers, International Competition of Young Criminologists 2019

Abstract

An international competition was held in 2019 in conjunction with the 19th World Congress of Criminology. It was co-sponsored by the Education for Justice (E4J) Programme of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Society of Criminology. Ten papers were selected as winners by an international jury. Their authors received financial support to attend, be recognized and present their work at the Congress. This editorial piece presents details about the competition and the winning papers.

Una competencia internacional reservada a jóvenes criminólogos se llevó a cabo en 2019 en preparación para el XIX Congreso Mundial de Criminología. Fue co-patrocinado por el Programa de Educación para la Justicia (E4J) de la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas contra la Droga y el Delito (UNODC) y la Sociedad Internacional de Criminología (ISC). Diez trabajos ganadores fueron seleccionados por un jurado internacional. Sus autores recibieron apoyo financiero para asistir, ser reconocidos y presentar su trabajo en el Congreso. Esta pieza editorial presenta detalles sobre la competencia y los trabajos que ganaron la competencia.

Un concours international réservé aux jeunes criminologues s’est tenu en 2019 en préparation du 19e Congrès Mondial de Criminologie. Il était co-parrainé par le programme Education pour la Justice (E4J) du Bureau des Nations Unies contre la Drogue et le Crime (UNODC) et la Société Internationale de Criminologie (ISC). Dix articles gagnants ont été sélectionnés par un jury international. Leurs auteurs ont reçu un soutien financier pour assister, être reconnus et présenter leurs travaux au Congrès. Cet article éditorial présente des détails sur le concours et les articles gagnants.
