On the Radio Emission of Barred Spirals

It is found that the relation between the presence of radio emission and the degree of central concentration (i.e. the Byurakan class) of spiral galaxies is valid only for barred spirals. Barred spirals are also found to have central radio sources more often than normal spirals which are generally disc radio emitters.
