Between 5 December 2023 and 9 December 2023, the Nineteenth IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics (IEEE ROBIO 2023) was held in Samui, Thailand. 

The Conference consisted of over 400 participants with seven keynotes, 115 presentations and 262 posters. Among all oral presentations, five ROBOTICA Best Paper finalist papers were picked up. 

The final award of the ROBOTICA Best Paper Award was presented to Takashi Harada and Hayato Yase of Kindai University, Japan for their paper: 'Family of Six-DOF Novel Two-Platform Parallel Robots and Development of Re-Configurable Prototypes'.

The five ROBOTICA Best Paper Finalist Papers are: 

  1. Zilong Cheng, Yulin Li, Kai Chen, Jianghua Duan, Jun Ma, and Tong Heng Lee, Neural-iLQR: 'A Learning-Aided Shooting Method for Trajectory Optimization', the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
  2. Dingzhi Zhang, Lukas Birner, Vinicius Zinkernagel, Christoph Rehekampff, Darius Burschka, and Tim C. Lueth, Carrier Bot: 'A UWB-based Human Following Mobile Platform for lntra-Office Transport with an Intuitive Teach-and-Repeat Programming', Technical University of Munich.
  3. Takashi Harada and Hayato Yase, 'Family of Six-DOF Novel Two-Platform Parallel Robots and Development of Re-Configurable Prototypes', Kindai University. *Awarded ROBOTICA Best Paper
  4. Zeyu Bao, Guo-Niu Zhu, Wenchao Ding, Yuxiang Guan, Weibang Bai, and Zhongxue Gan, 'A Smart Interactive Camera Robot Based on Large Language Models', Fudan University
  5. Yifei Chen, Deyu Yang, Ziyu Liu, Boyu Yang, and Hongqiang Wang, Pipe-finder: Adaptive, Lightweight Pipe Robot lntegrating Origami Anisotropic Stiffness Structure, Southern University of Science and Technology.
