An Approach to First Aid Programming: The Yugoslavian Red Cross Society has had the unique opportunity to design, develop and commence implementation of a full National First Aid Service. The program is divided into four areas: (1) first aid skill components of existing programs; (2) student training courses; (3) leadership courses; and (4) public education. The movement toward a National First Aid Service has been rapid. The radical change in delivery systems, principles upon which the program is built, and the overall philosophy are recognized as potential risks but ones well worth taking.
