A New Xanthone-Containing Micarea from Northwest Europe and the Pacific Northwest of North America

Abstract

Micarea xanthonica sp. nov. is described from the western British Isles, westernmost Norway and the Pacific Northwest of North America. It belongs to the M. prasina group, but differs from related species in possessing xanthones in the thallus.
