[The agreement will enter into force on June 26, 1968. In accordance with Article VI, Japan notified the United States on May 26, 1968 that the agreement had been approved in accordance with i t s legal procedures. The agreement need not be ratified by the U.S. Senate as it comes within the provisions of the 1951 peace treaty with Japan.
