[The Joint Communiqué of December 15, 1978, establishing diplomatic relations, together with related documents, appears at 18 I.L.M. 272 (1979). A number of bilateral agreements between China and the United States have been concluded following that joint communiqué. They include those on the establishment of consular relations, on cultural relations, on cooperation in the field of high energy physics, and on cooperation in science and technology, starting at 18 I.L.M. 337 (1979).
