A new approach in management of behavioral disorders in children subjected to domestic violence.

Introduction

It was a dream for me, to start with all these children with behavioral disorders, specially after i discovered that the parents are also in trouble, need help, guidance & reassurance. We went through 10 workshops for children, 6 sessions of support group therapy for mothers.

The results & support & change in peoples lives in this year was overwhelming. we all changed through these workshops.

Objectives

  • Exploring the effects of domestic violence on kids, affecting their behavior.

  • Knowing if the personality profile of parents has an effect.

  • Exploring results after educating parents on violence & its effects on their children.

  • Attending sessions of supportive group therapy &it's effects on performance of mothers.

Aims

  • Improving the behavioral disorders in children.

  • Exploring the personality traits of parents.

  • Establishing a fixed model to be applied .

Methods

Mini Kid questionnaire, MMPI,.

Art therapy, Play therapy.

Results

Marked improvement in the behavioral pattern of the children included, revealing the pesonality profile of parents,

Conclusions

Extra care should be given to parental education to newly married couples, educating parents at different stages during childbearing period.

Educating children at school for their needs & how to know themselves &accomplish their dreams.

Every behavioral change is possible with the least tools, it just needs will & guidance
