* In this connection of historical priority it is interesting to quote from the Notes and References in this book: ‘37.J.B.S. Haldane was the first to suggest electrolytic production of hydrogen fuel from wind power in 1923, and in 1927 A.J. Stuart suggested using hydropower as a source of electricity for hydrogen production. The use of solar power to produce hydrogen was first suggested by J. O'M. Bockris in 1962.’ The last-named is of course the present Reviewer and is contemplating a book on the subject for one of our Series.—Ed.
