We utilised a cast preoperatively prepared on the basis of the patient’s computed tomography data to clarify unusual orientation of the great arteries (transposition of great arteries, coarctation of the aorta, and abnormally branching central pulmonary arteries) in a 2.2-kg neonate. The three-dimensional model was very useful for designing the surgical procedure – being easy to handle for real and precise simulation of the reparative manoeuvres.

Prenatal closure of foramen ovale without CHD is a rarely reported entity. Therefore, clinical and echocardiographic findings are poorly defined in these patients. We report a patient with prenatal closure of foramen ovale that presented with severe pulmonary hypertension of the newborn and left ventricular failure. Judicious management strategies were utilised to successfully treat both life-threatening conditions.

Truncus arteriosus is a rare cyanotic congenital heart defect that involves septation failure of the heart’s main arterial outflow tract. Varying morphologies of the truncal valve and aorta have been reported; however, the ascending aorta is typically supplied via anterograde blood flow through the truncal valve. We present the first reported case of neonatal truncus arteriosus with the ascending aorta being supplied entirely by retrograde flow.

We present a case of an 18-year-old male with large anterior muscular ventricular septal defect. Assessment by echocardiography showed that the defect has completely closed by the growth of muscle bundles that formed a pouch-like structure on the right ventricular side. This unusual mechanism of closure has been reported in one prior case report. In our report, we present images obtained by three-dimensional echocardiography.

Patients with Williams syndrome often present with abnormalities of the vascular wall of the aorta and/or the pulmonary artery. Surgery may result in restenosis of the affected vessel. Herein, we report a case of an infant with multiple recurrences of aortic coarctation successfully treated with Zotarolimus drug-eluting stent.

Aortopulmonary window with interrupted aortic arch is rarely reported beyond infancy. Pre-operative assessment and surgical repair are challenging. We report successful surgical repair of aortopulmonary window with interrupted aortic arch in a 6-year-old girl with near-normal pulmonary artery pressure immediately following surgery.
