Although larger stent placement could be effective for pulmonary vein stenosis, stents extrusion tends to occur due to caliber narrowing, small landing area, and the slippery nature. We placed stents with diameter ≧8 mm for four stenotic lesions using the “half-uncovered technique”. All stents were precisely placed and successfully resolved the stenosis. This technique allows us to avoid extrusion and to perform safe and effective dilatation when placing larger stents for pulmonary vein stenosis.

We report a neonate who presented with spontaneous thrombus formation in the native aortic root after Norwood palliation for hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Thrombus formation led to myocardial ischaemia due to decreased coronary blood flow with electrocardiographic signs of ischaemia and elevated cardiac enzymes. Aggressive thrombolysis and anticoagulation therapy were major contributors to successful outcome.

A maternally inherited novel pathogenic non-POU domain-containing octamer-binding gene variant c.767G>T, p.R256I [NM_001145408], manifested in a male infant as dilated cardiomyopathy with severe left ventricular dysfunction and dilation, biventricular non-compaction, tricuspid hypoplasia, and hydrocephaly. To the best of our knowledge, no previous non-POU domain-containing octamer-binding gene variants with biventricular non-compaction have been associated with tricuspid valve hypoplasia. Hence, this case introduces a new pathogenic variant observed in the non-POU domain-containing octamer-binding gene and adds to the range of cardiac phenotypes identified in non-POU domain-containing octamer-binding gene variants.

Retrocardiac course of an ectopic right coronary artery is newly described. The alternative (usual) course of an anomalous right coronary from the left sinus of Valsalva is pre-aortic and intramural, with stenosis. In the present exceptional case, there was no stenosis.

Cases of severe heart damage in patients presenting with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children are one of the most intriguing phenomena during the coronavirus disease of 2019 pandemic. The pathophysiology of myocardial changes in the course of this syndrome has not been fully understood yet. We present a case of a child with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children and with cardiac changes corresponding to Takotsubo syndrome.

We report a 25-year-old woman who was diagnosed with atrial septal defect (ASD). An ECG showed only first-degree atrioventricular block and incomplete right bundle branch block. One day after the percutaneous ASD closure, she had a slight fever and an ECG showed a type 1 Brugada pattern. ECG characteristics of ASD are similar to those of a Brugada ECG. This case is rare combination of Brugada syndrome with ASD.

We present a case of a hamartoma of mature cardiac myocytes. This is an extremely rare tumour and the first reported paediatric case localised in the left atrium.

Venous aneurysms are an atypical presentation of neck masses in the paediatric population. The evaluation and surgical removal of internal jugular vein phlebectasia and a lipoma coexisting are described in this report. Internal jugular vein phlebectasia is theorised as a congenital defect and is becoming more common with advancing imaging technologies. Both phlebectasia and lipomas are considered benign conditions, but clinicians must be aware of tumours producing mass effect.

We present the case of a 4-month-old, former 23-week premature baby who underwent patent ductus arteriosus device closure in the cardiac catheterisation lab with an Amplatzer Piccolo™ device at 12 weeks of life. This was complicated by late migration of the device into the aorta resulting in severe obstruction and requiring surgical intervention.

Severe tricuspid regurgitation in corrected transposition of great arteries is treated with early bioprosthetic replacement to prevent right ventricular failure. When bioprosthesis degenerates, surgery on cardioplegic arrest further complicates right ventricular function. We report the first transcatheter valve-in-valve implantation of tricuspid valve in a systemic right ventricle in corrected transposition describing the modifications due to anatomical differences in these patients.

A 4-day-old girl with Posterior fossa anomalies, Haemangiomas of the head and neck, Arterial, Cardiovascular, and Eye anomalies and ventral developmental defect syndrome comprising a facial haemangioma, aortic coarctation at the aortic arch, torturous aortic aneurysm distal to coarctation, and ductus arteriosus originating proximal to the coarctation is presented. The aortic arch was successfully reconstructed without cardiopulmonary bypass, and she is currently doing well after 4 years and 8 months.
