Fields and Chern Medal winners 2018
Caucher Birkar, Alessio Figalli, Peter Scholze and Akshay Venkatesh were announced as the winners of the 2018 Fields Meals at the opening event of the International Congress of Mathematicians in Rio de Janiero. You can read more about the winners here.

Awarded to an individual whose accomplishments warrant the highest level of recognition for outstanding achievements in the field of mathematics, the 2018 Chern Medal was awarded to Masaki Kashiwara.
