Summary

The present contribution firstly provides an analysis of the concept of integral ecology and of the call for an ecological conversion, in the light of the most relevant legal, economic and scientific literature. Secondly, it shows the existence of potential positive linkages between the Encyclical Letter and the implementation process of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the related 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. In fact, these two documents might play a great role in the needed transition towards a more sustainable future.
