Summary
In 1913 Hohfeld published “The Relations Between Equity and Law” in the Michigan Law Review.1 It is an odd sort of piece. In the first eight pages Hohfeld sets out his disagreement with Maitland, who held that the common law and equity are not (for the most part2) in conflict.
