To all who see or hear this writing, John of Ramsey, lord of Gladney, eternal salvation in the Lord. Know that I have given, granted, and wholly and fully sold to Adam called Purrock, citizen of the city of St Andrews, that half perch of land with pertinents in the market street of the same city, which lies between the said Adam's land on the east side, on one side, and the land that William son of Simon holds on the west side, on the other side, for a certain sum of money paid to me in my great and urgent need, to be held and had by the aforesaid Adam, his heirs and his assignees whosoever they be, as freely, quietly, peaceably, and honourably as any citizen freely and quietly holds or possesses any land of our lord bishop by whatever means, by rendering thereupon annually to my lord Bishop two sterling pennies at the customary terms in the city.
