Summary
Although the rate of inflation in Britain has fallen substantially compared with a few years ago, the trend in prices of farm inputs and outputs is still steadily upwards, with considerable unpredictable fluctuations around this trend. The prices used in the second edition relate for the most part to levels during 1977–78. It is to be remembered, however, that the examples are concerned simply to demonstrate principles, concepts and methods, and these are in no way invalidated by price changes.
