Summary

This chapter will examine how to treat obsessions without obvious compulsions. Examples will be given of how this may be tackled. There will also be a discussion about the concept of ‘Pure O’, what this may consist of and how this may be tackled. Finally, there will be a discussion about distinguishing between and treating non-obsessive ruminations which can co-exist in people with OCD.
