Dicta die xxviii et ultima Februarii [1457 (ab inc.)]
(Prudens vir ser Angelus quandam Gratie de Acoltis civis et notarius Aretinus produxit et presentavit coram dictis dominis prioribus populi civitatis Aretii quasdam litteras famosissimi legum doctoris domini Benedicti domini Michaelis de Acoltis tenoris et contientie infrascripte videlicet intus:) Magnifici domini priores. Ho inteso che quelli che furono costà electi sopra la riforma dela cità fecono per loro partito che in caso io fussi tracto capo di scripta dei priori di costà et io non aceptasse e fussi contento che ser Angnolo di Gratia fusse in mio luogo che lui potesse exercitare l'uficio in mio luogo. Et però v'aviso che mia intentione non è quando fussi tracto d'aceptare, non perché l'uficio non sia più degno assai ch'io non merito, ma per le molte mie occupationi et per la absentia, la quale legiptimamente mi scusa. Et per tanto vi priego che se quando si farà la tracta io per sorte sarò tracto, voi diate quello honore a ser Angnolo, che ne so molto contento. Valete feliciter. In Firenze a dì xxv di febraio MCCCCLVII.

Clarissime vir pater et domine mi precipue. Bernardo da Castiglioncho chiese una lectera al Re Renato, et deliberossi perché Messer Octo mi disse che vi pareva, et disse l'effecto dela lectera. Par melo avere scripto in buona forma et, come vederete, non si confessa in tucto Bernardo esser fuor di colpa, né anche s'accusa. Mandovela, et se vi par da mutar nulla, avisatemi et farassi. Bernardo la sollecita molto et vorrebbela oggi. In ongni modo valete felix et diu. Servitor vester,
