The Astroinformatics Program is funded by the Chilean Economy Ministry’s (FIE Grant FIE-2016-V022, CORFO Grant 16IFI6626) with the mission to identify and initiate investments to foster Chilean Digital Economy, using Astronomy data-centric tools (known as astroinformatics). Over 2017 we worked with communities across sectors identifying opportunities to achieve the program mission, the Data Observatory vision emerged from that work and will guide design activities throughout 2018.

We present spectroscopic analysis of 63 type II supernovae. We present preliminary results on correlations between spectroscopic and photometric properties, focusing on light-curve decline rates, absolute magnitudes and Hα lines profiles. We found the ratio of absorption to emission of Hα P-Cygni profile as the dominant measured parameter as it has the highest median correlation with all other parameters.

The Supernova Working Group was re-established at the IAU XXV General Assembly in Sydney, 21 July 2003, sponsored by Commissions 28 (Galaxies) and 47 (Cosmology). Here we report on some of its activities since 2005.

The “standard candle method” for Type II plateau supernovae produces a Hubble diagram with a dispersion of 0.3 mag, which implies that this technique can produce distances with a precision of 15%. Using four nearby supernovae with Cepheid distances I find H0(V)=75±7, and H0(I)=65±12.
