Inertial modes trapped in the solar convective envelope
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 03 August 2017
Abstract
Due to their efficient trapping in the outer layers such modes may reach observable amplitudes of the order of 1–10 m/s, even if their energies are as those of the “five minute” oscillations. The modes that are most likely to be seen correspond to the lowest radial orders.
