It would not be possible, in the limited time available, to survey the entire field now covered by the term “Electrotonic Music”. Moreover, properly to explain the many diverse ways in which musical sounds can be produced by purely electrical means would involve many technical expressions, and I think it would be better to avoid these technicalities, which are mostly borrowed from the science of communication engineering, and thus difficult to reconcile with musical knowledge.
