Welcome, everyone, to this late breaking session of the American Society of International Law's annual conference entitled “Democracy Under Threat.” My name is Sean Murphy. I am the Manatt/Ahn Professor of International Law at George Washington University. I am also a member of the UN International Law Commission, and of particular note for this conference, I am the immediate past president of the American Society of International Law.
