Since 1987 New Perspectives on Turkey (NPT) has provided an intellectual platform for scholarly debates and ideas relating to the history, politics, society, economy and culture of Turkey and the Ottoman Empire.
Aligning with its mission to promote innovative, original and current research in the above-mentioned fields, NPT will commence a bi-annual “NPT Best Paper Award” in 2020. “NPT Best Paper Award” will feature a certain theme in every round and the editorial board chose climate change as the theme for the 2020 competition.
Research paper submissions from any field of social science focusing on or with a comparative perspective that includes Turkey and the Middle East and which address historical or contemporary aspects of climate change and environmental studies are encouraged.
Graduate students and researchers who have completed their Ph.D. degrees within the past 5 years are eligible to apply.
The winner will be awarded a prize of $1,000 and the selected article will be recognized as the winner and published in an upcoming issue of New Perspectives on Turkey. We invite scholars from all around the world to submit their papers by June 30, 2020 using our website.
