Abstract

The surface structure of “pure” oxides as well as the same materials after promotion by alkali metals, models of the oxide surface based on results of image simulation procedure have been proposed. The surface structure reconstruction of the catalysts upon electron beam irradiation was also observed. For the specimens under investigation surface steps and kinks were shown to be essential for strong interaction between oxides and supported Pt particles preventing their migration and suppressing the sintering process.
