Extract

The influence of the gravity on fluids and mixtures near critical points or on heterogeneous materials are well known. In the present paper, we show that gravity also affects gelling systems. We report unexpected results on weakly concentrated gels which find their origin in the deformation under its own weight of the polymer network.
