Abstract

The synthesis of transparent hybrid organic-inorganic coatings obtained from condensation between 3-isocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane containing grafted azo dyes (ICTES-Red 17) and tetramethoxysilane (TMOS) precursors has been performed. Influence of ICTES-Red 17/TMOS molar composition and thermal curing on both structure and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of these materials have been investigated. A thermal treatment of ICTES-Red 17/TMOS coatings before poling has been found to improve nonlinear optical responses as well as its stability.
