Utlra-Thermostable Long-Period Gratings Written in Nitrogen-Doped Silica Fibers
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 10 February 2011
Abstract
Long-period gratings were written in nitrogen-doped-silica-core optical fibers by point heating. The periodic variations of the effective refractive index were induced via diffusion of nitrogen from the fiber core. It is shown experimentally that such gratings remain functional at temperatures of up to 1200 °C.
