Like a scientific world’s fair every fourth year, the International Microscopy Congress highlights the best in new instruments, methods, and results. Under the auspices of the International Federation of Societies for Microscopy, the 19th International Microscopy Congress (IMC-19) will be held September 9–14, 2018, in Sydney, Australia. The venue will be the new International Convention Centre (ICC Sydney) at Darling Harbour, near Sydney’s Harbour Bridge. Over 2,000 scientific attendees are expected to take part in the Congress and the interactive trade exhibition.

The theme of the Congress will be “Microscopy: Bridging the Sciences.” The scientific program, led by world-renowned plenary speakers, will be a showcase of exciting developments in microscopy and a demonstration of the transformational role microscopy plays in underpinning many of the physical and life sciences.

Digital poster technology will debut at the Congress in 2018 offering delegates a host of new interactive features such as in-built animation and video streams. Delegates may access posters on their phone, tablet, or laptop anytime and anywhere during the Congress, plus communicate directly with fellow attendees.

International Microscopy Congresses are justly famous for their social events. At IMC-19 delegates will have opportunities to enjoy the fabulous food, wine, and hospitality for which Australia is renown. The new International Convention Centre is just a short walk from the downtown area and close to many of Sydney’s attractions: the Aquarium, the Australian National Maritime Museum, the Powerhouse Museum, and of course the Sydney Opera House. Take this opportunity to extend your stay and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime Australian experience.

Don’t wait—put this extraordinary scientific event on your 2018 schedule. Download the Program at a Glance at www.imc19.com and submit an abstract before the deadline of February 1.
