First record of the association between the amphipod Metopa alderii and the bivalve Musculus

Abstract

The amphipod Metopa alderii is for the first time reported to live in symbiosis with the bivalves Musculus discors and M. niger in northern Spitzbergen. Metopa alderii has previously only been reported as free-living, and never before this far north.
