This 2014 report, which surveyed 74 countries, suggests that at least 250 million people are involved in cooperatives in some way. Within the G20, cooperatives account for 12% of the entire employed population. In Britain alone, some 7,000 cooperatives contribute approximately £37 billion to the economy, and in the USA there are over 30,000 cooperatives accounting for $600 billion in revenues.
