Settlement of Elminius modestus cyprids in contact with adult barnacles in the field

Extract

Elminius modestus cyprids settle readily in contact with adult barnacles in the field, and do not discriminate between conspecific and alien adults. This settlement strategy is contrasted with that previously shown to be employed by Balanus balanoides.
