The Catholic Documentation Centre (KDC) was set up in 1969 by the Catholic University of Nijmegen. Its task is to collect, order and describe documentation on the Catholic life of the Netherlands in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries, and so to make it available for research. The Centre has three departments: an archive, a library and a so-called categorical documentation department.

4. The KDC is open for visitors between 9.00 and 17.15 h from Monday to Friday. Between 12.30 and 14.00 h there is no service. The staff of the KDC are available every day between 11.00 and 12.00 h. At other times, appointment by telephone or letter, is necessary. In particular with regard to the consultation of archives, prior contact with the archivist is advisable, to avoid problems that may arise with regard to permission. From about 1900 till 1971, the Piusalmanak gives the names and stations of many Dutch missionaries under such headings as “Missiehuizen”, “Missies”, “De RK-Kerk in de Nederlandsche kolonien”, “Katholiek Nederland en de uitbreiding der H. Kerk” and “Alphabetische naaralijst der E.E.H.H. geestelijken in Nederland en in de missien”.
