Studies on the biology of the palm aphid, Cerataphis palmae (Ghesquierei) ( = Cerataphis variabilis Hille Ris Lambers) (Homoptera: Pemphigidae) on Raphia hookeri—II: Morphology of the immature stages

  • D. A. Enobakhare (a1) and E. O. Osisanya (a1)

Four instars of Cerataphis palmae (Ghesquierei) ( = Cerataphis variabilis H.R.L.) were identified from laboratory-bred and field-collected alatoid and apterous immatures through morphometric studies. These were distinguished most readily by the number and shape of antennal segments, body size, degree of development of the thorax, the presence or absence of wing pads and crenulations on body margin.
