During nova outbursts a large part of the envelope mass is blown off. This mass ejection is caused mainly by the radiation driven wind and by the Roche lobe overflow. Theoretical studies on the acceleration mechanisms are briefly reviewed. Finally, I present theoretical light curves for U Sco based on the steady wind approach.
