The Government and Opposition Leonard Schapiro Memorial Lecture is named in honour of Leonard Schapiro, one of the journal's founding editors and takes place every year at the Political Studies Association annual meeting.
The 2018 Lecture was delivered by Professor Carrie Rosefsky Wickham (Emory University) on March 27th at the PSA Annual Conference in Cardiff. Entitled ‘A Fresh Perspective on the Origins of “Civic Culture” and Why It Matters for the Study of the Arab World’, the lecture will appear in a forthcoming issue of Government & Opposition.
