1 Caution seems necessary in using Mr. T. B. L. Webster's work. For example, is cuicuimodi really the reading of V at Fl. 40, and not, as Clark and Fruechtel say, a conjecture of Schuetz? In the Cusan excerpts Mr. Webster differs from Fruechtel in giving as the MS. reading uestro testimonio, no indices after uiri (uirtutem Halm), no atque honestissimae after amplissimae, and iudicio. Iudicio is given by Fruechtel as Klein's conjecture for indicium. Will Mr. Webster have us believe that Klein had iudicio before him ? What with Fruechtel is frag. 17 is not given by Mr. Webster.
