Cardiology in the Young is the official journal of the following Societies:
The Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology (AEPC) was founded in Lyon in 1963 and subsequently has created a network of specialists working in the same field encountering similar problems. The mission of AEPC is to promote (a) the knowledge of the normal and diseased heart and circulation and (b) exchange of knowledge and (c) continuous education.
The International Society for Nomenclature of Paediatric and Congenital Heart Disease is an established not-for-profit organization, with the mission to identify, standardize, and maintain an international nomenclature system, the International Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Code (IPCCC), enhancing global communication and facilitating patient care, research, and training in paediatric and congenital heart disease across disciplines. The IPCCC provides a common language and terminology, inclusive of definitions and imaging, through which institutions across the world can seamlessly communicate, comparing and improving outcomes and the quality of care that is given to children, young people and adults born with malformed hearts.

The World Congress of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery (WCPCCS) reflects unity of purpose between professionals who recognised that surgeons and cardiologists driven by a desire to help children, should really meet together every four years. The 1st WCPCCS took place in Paris in June 1993 and thereafter in Hawaii 1997, Toronto 2001, Buenos Aires 2005, Cairns 2009, Cape Town 2013, and Barcelona 2017. The WCPCCS is the most important meeting place for the global coalition of doctors, nurses, and health scientists who use research and technological development to provide better care for babies, children and adults with congenital and acquired cardiac disease. The World Congress is the major international scientific event for this community and an important opportunity to highlight and review four years of research and technological developments in basic sciences, translational and clinical research and therapeutic interventions. The 8th World Congress will be held in Washington from 19 – 24 September 2021 (see here).
