Summary
El ensayista y novelista Pedro de Lorenzo (Casas de Don Antonio, Cáceres, 1917—Madrid, 2000), muy próximo al régimen franquista, según se desprende de sus colaboraciones en periódicos y revistas como Arriba y Garcilaso (de esta última fue, además, cofundador), estuvo muy interesado por Miró. Hay en las obras completas de Lorenzo un número ingente de citas, alusiones y comentarios sobre Miró y/o sus escritos, por lo que sería imposible recorgerlo todo aquí, pero cabe destacar:
(i) Una mención en que Lorenzo pone a Miró como ejemplo de que no es necesaria una formación universitaria para llegar a ser literato. Aunque breve, se trata de una mención muy significativa, por estar en el manifiesto lorentino más importante de principios estéticos: La creación como patriotismo.
(ii) Un artículo en el que Lorenzo estudia en Miró ‘El paisaje, protagonista’ (Fantasía: 636—39), uno de los aspectos más repetidos, como hemos visto, de la producción mironiana desde el 27.
(iii) Unos amplios esquemas (siete páginas) sobre corrientes literarias, en el que Lorenzo (Elogio: 264, 277, 279—83) clasifica a Miró dentro del Novecentismo y señala muchos de sus rasgos estéticos.
Además, parece que Lorenzo conocía a Miró ya antes de escribir su primera novela, La quinta soledad (1943), fechada en 1939, es decir, cuando tenía 23 años. Según Dámaso Santos, al ponerse a escribir La quinta soledad Lorenzo estaba ya ‘en la plenitud de sus lecturas’, y añade: ‘Seguramente ha leído Las cerezas del cementerio.’
